b'SSA Women Living in theBenedictine Tradition of.PrayerBrenda Lanier 62A lifelong resident of Covington, 1962 SSA Alumna, Mrs. Brenda Lanier, lives the Pillar of Prayer on a daily basis.Brendas granddaughter, Elise, is a rising junior at the Academy and because of that, has become a more active member of our community.Her visits to campus put a smile on our faces as she inspires us with each visit by her words or photos she shares to enjoy a closer relationship with God.Brenda spends each First Friday during the school year as an adorer in the SSA Chapel praying before the Blessed Sacrament.Her devotion to her alma mater is evident in the construction and donation of the creche and nativity scene dis-played in the SSA prayer garden each Advent.In addition, when Brenda noticed we used a cafeteria table as an altar for our school masses, she and her husband constructed and donated a beautiful table to be used as an altar.As a faithful member of St. Jane de Chantel Parish, Brenda sees life through the lens of a devoted Catholic. She shows all of us what it means to live the Pillar of Prayer embraced while a student at the Academy.Work Mary Katherine Taylor 02After a very busy high school career, Mary Katherine Kaufman grad-uated from SSA in 2002 and went on to graduate from Elon Uni-versity a semester early with a major in English and a minor in Art.Mary Katherine worked at a New Orleans law firm before enrolling in Loyola Law School in 2006.While at Loyola, she worked for the Jefferson Parish District Attorneys Office.Upon graduation from Loyola, Mary Katherine worked for the City of New Orleans Law Department as an Assistant City Attorney for ten years.Mary Katherine now works for the United States Attorneys Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana as an Assistant United States Attorney, her dream job! In addition to her very busy dream job, Mary Katherine is married and a mother of two chil-dren, is an active member of Junior League of New Orleans and a member of the only all-fe-male team that competes in the BBQ competi-tion for Hogs for the Cause, Sweet Swine OMine.Mary Katherine was a panelist at this years Career day, thus tightening her bond with SSA.'
