b'SSA Women Living in theBenedictine Tradition of.Amanda Villarrubia Sciortino 03has been teaching in the elementary school setting for thirteen years. Two of those years were in the Georgia public school system, but after moving back home, she has been teaching third grade at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic School in Mandeville for the past eleven years. In 2017,Amanda was awarded the VFW National Citizenship Educa-tion Teacher Award at both the post (school) and district level. Amanda earned her Bachelors and Masters in Education as well as a minor in psychology from Louisiana State University. Throughout her career, Amanda has taught students in gifted education. She also currently serves as the Student Council moderator and as the assistant to the Religion Coordinator.Amanda says, My time at SSA showed me the importance and beauty of integrating religion through-out the school day. Im so blessed that I get to help do the same thingStudynow for the younger generation.Amanda wants to credit the many wonderful teachers at SSA that instilled in her a passion for education that she hopes she is paying forward to her students today.Mary Katherine Taylor 02 Kim Winston Bigler 91After a very busy high school career, Mary Katherine Kaufman grad- In 2010 Kim Winston Bigler started what would eventually become James uated from SSA in 2002 and went on to graduate from Elon Uni- Samaritan out of the trunk of her car in California.Over the last 5 years versity a semester early with a major in English and a minor in Art.
